What we count, and your choice

We count visits so we can see which worlds, craft and encounters people enjoy, and make the site better. We never use it for advertising, we never sell it, and you can switch it off below.

What we collect

Basic, anonymous figures about how the site is used:

We do not ask for your name or email, and nothing we collect is used to work out who you are.

How we count

Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as changed by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025), cookies used only to count visits and improve a website do not need a consent banner, as long as we explain them clearly and give you a simple, free way to say no. This page is that explanation, and the switch above is that way.

Your choices

Other things your browser fetches

Our fonts are kept on our own site. Some pages load code libraries (for the 3D planets) from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net. Like any website, those services see your internet address in order to send the files, but they set no cookies for us.

Why we are allowed to, and your rights

We count visits because we have a legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to ask us to delete it and to object. As the figures are anonymous, in most cases we hold nothing that could be linked back to you. To ask anything, email hello@aliensdecoded.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
